‘The uglier the better’ is this season’s biggest trainer trend as the chunky shoes emerge into the fashion lime light. Albeit, those Balenciaga’s are complete trainer goals (you know which ones i’m talking about) and are on our summer wish-list, however, some of us simply cannot afford to send £615 on a shoe… In recent weeks, the biggest names in sportswear and producers of athletic trainers have jumped on the chunky bandwagon, giving the Balenciaga Triple S a run for its money.

Balenciaga Triple S – The IT trainer of the year for sure.

Fila Disruptor- Serious Baby Spice vibes with these white trainers. Ans what’s better? They’re also available in baby pink and lilac for a fraction of the cost of the designer version. We love the styling with a blazer/tailored outfit to give the perfect balance of edgy and power dressing.

Puma Thunder Electric- The mix of colors on both the shoe and the sole make it the perfect Balenciaga dupe! The hint of lilac gives a feminine edge which we love.

Reebok Classic– Remember when EVERYONE had these trainers in the early 2000s? The classic Reeboks made a re-appearance last year but have come back this season with a double soul.

Reebok Insta-pump Fury– These unusual trainers aren’t for the fashion faint-hearted and definitely win ugly points. The cut-out detail makes this trainer very different from the Classic brand, but after they were seen on Kylie Jenner, we were completely sold…

Nike Air Max 95- Not a new trainer but certainly deserves a spot on the list. This is the perfect wardrobe staple, and super comfy! We’re totally crushing on the baby pink versions styled with ripped boyfriend jeans and fishnets.

Nike M2K Tekno– The phrase ‘dad trainers’ springs to mind, and we’re completely OK with that. The splash of color makes the chunky trainer more on-trend so the luminous orange stripe is the perfect addition. Keep it casual with jeans or slouchy trousers, fashion has never been so comfy.

Adidas Falcon- Obsessed with this styling by theivorydiary, wearing a feminine dress with the not-so-feminine trainers. Bring out your inner Lily Allen with this combo for an instant wardrobe refresh. You could also try some heavy gold jewelry to further toughen up the girly dress.

Reebok Aztrek- Originally released in 1993, these are the ultimate 90’s comeback this season. We love the nostalgic vibes so pair with denim mom jeans for the ultimate vintage look.
